Your Daily Meme - Memorial Day Edition
I am having a difficult time contemplating America without a sense of sadness for those who fought in global conflicts to preserve our way of life and to promote stability around the world. My father and his siblings often come to mind. Just... sadness. These months have offered horrific attacks on our democracy by enemies from within; based on bigotry, ignorance, greed and revenge; and more or less a sense of complacency and apathy by those able to stop it.
I do not know what the solution is? The only thing I can think of is to take care of those around us. Try and instill some sense of hope - even if it feels difficult. Try and show kindness to strangers.
What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there,
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
May you find kindness in return. Assurance of a future; if not in mankind, solace in nature and our surroundings.
Happy Memorial Day.

Hypocrit.
Today in "Fucking Whack-job Christians"...
After a week of figuring out ways to plunder remaining social services and to cut funding to the essential support of programs like Medicaid that disproportionately impacts the disadvantaged, children and elderly, Speaker Mike Johnson poses in front of his 'Place for Prayer'.
And like any good Christian church, it's has security protecting it.
“This is like a cathedral at night,” he said, walking toward an almost-hidden door. “It’s the most beautiful thing in the Capitol.” He punched in the key code and stepped inside.

Good morning, all!
Sunday Morning Pope Collection...
Thank you, Gary Trudeau
Ah-yup...
I begun to just cut to the chase - when someone gives me that "Whatever" or worse, "Whateves" response, I just tell them to go fuck off. If you can't be bothered to actively listen, then I am not going to be bothered to be civil. Just fuck off.
Love bunnies.
I'm looking at you and your brain worm, RFK Jr.
I leave you this morning with tree peony blooms from our yard!
