Welcome to my Blog
I am 63 years old and I am a bit set in my ways. I try to limit my
screen time to a few hours a day; check the local weather and
financials, the online news (AP and Reuters), scan some blogs that I
like to follow (mainly to curate new memes). Check out new YouTube
videos. See if Keith Olbermann has a new podcast (he has cut back to
1-2 a week), and then check in on Facebook. All in all, I can get
through most all of this in a few hours, then I power off the desktop
and go about my day.
For years, I used "My.Yahoo" as
my default homepage. It offered me a widget for weather and finances -
front and center, before launching through my "Morning Coffee" of
online activity. It was joyous! Simple. Everything of importance to
me; nothing I did not care or need to see. That was until Yahoo decided
to discontinue supporting that level of customization. Instead, they
decided I needed to see whatever bullshit the Google/Yahoo AI wanted me
to see; latest political nonsense, opinions, sports, self-starting
videos, etc. And no way for me to edit the content!
No.
I
futzed around with different "web design" packages only to realize how
MUCH of that coding knowledge was gleefully purged from my brain, so I
dropped back to Google Blogger to create my own personal Blog and home
page. I hope to have the energy to make a daily posting over mug of java.
That is why I am here.
Welcome to my Morning Coffee!
Rade
