My sister was the first born. My parents shared a 2-family home with his sister. He went home and disappointedly told her his sister, “Eh. It’s a girl.”
I don't get the whole penchant for sons over daughters. Back in the old (antiquity) to help with chores, etc... then the whole "carry on the name" shit. But now?
