Our home overlooks Mount Hope Bay. The past couple of nights, the winds have been dead calm, and the temps have dropped down into the single digits. At the moment, there is a sheen of ice covering most of the upper bay; not something we see a lot of, but the circumstances aligned just right this week.
The bay does no see a lot of water traffic this time of year. There is little waterfront industry around the bend in Fall River. Along the coast below us is a heating oil tank farm, and there are occasional ocean barges that come up from oil depots in New York and New Jersey, so little to disturb the water.
It's... peaceful.
