This is a blog by an adult for adults. Content will generally be PG-13 with a little beefcake now and then, however strong language may prevail, especially when commenting on the geopolitical BULLSHIT going on around the world. Otherwise, please enjoy the snark, some memes, okay, LOTS of memes, cats, and humor! Welcome!

Observe

Since this recent election, I am often asked “Will the next x-number-of years be good or bad?

I don’t have a crystal ball to gaze into the future; I can only reflect on surviving through past administrations. I learned these life lessons coming through the Regan and Bush I administrations to… observe, learn how to critically think and research the policies, not the promises.  How to manage money and investments; abilities that carried me through the Dot Com bubble collapse under Clinton, the financial collapse of Bush II and the first Trump administration.  At no point did I starve or struggle, and as a matter of fact, made it nicely into retirement under Trumps first term.

It is January 2025, the world did not end, I certainly did not die.  Sure, Trump is not someone I would ever care to associate with; he’s too much of a pompous, ignorant ass.  I think the best advice I can offer on surviving whatever is coming at us is this; ignore the promises, the bluster, the threats and (personally) the voice; these are all the things that have one design in mind – to enrage people into knee-jerk reactions; to feed into a media cycle.  Just observe the policies, do your own research and adjust your course, accordingly.

As for the incessant coverage of his incoherent noxious ramblings and that of his party representatives – two buttons have always worked well: MUTE and POWER OFF.

As for that crystal ball?  Sanity will prevail, so will all of us.  Nothing is going to happen immediately.  As the last CEO I worked under at AT&T often said, “When you can see the rainstorm coming at you from 50 miles away, there is no excuse for getting wet”.

Observe.
