To all of the visitors to my site who are going to take part in this weekends protests; please be careful.
The SCROTUS administration has evolved most firmly into a fascist state; the only grace we have remaining are the handful of judicial combats that are not entirely slowing him and his minions down.
Honestly, I hate understanding what I have read, but I have a 36 year background in Information Technology, the last 21 in cyber security. From the minutia details in the "Big Beautiful Bill", The most diabolical matter at hand is not peaceful protesters being summarily picked up; it is now the DHS and FBI hoping to use an AI Large Machine Model to scan any publicly available surveillance footage from any source; news, social media, etc. to match the faces in the crowd with issued photo ID’s; in particular, images from protests.
This is fascism in the 21st century.
The upside to this is – it’s fascism as run by morons. Idiots.
The chances that they will have any success is relatively nil, but if they can get one proof of concept to sorta work, even half-assed, they will consider a model to launch forward.
If you are going to participate, please take precautions. You may think there is strength and anonymity in large crowds, but AI does not care; it’s not ICE Barbie looking at footage on her Signal account – it will be a computer algorithm able to scan each and every face from any source in nanoseconds. Aside from earlier warnings about cleaning your phone, letting a trusted contact know where you are going to be, etc. this time around, step it up a notch. Wear a broad-rimmed hat, face mask or gaiter, keep your sunglasses on. Don't make it easy to be photographed.
Be vigilant. Remain alert. Be aware of quick changes and commotion within the crowd. When all is said and done, it... YOU will make a difference.

Good advice. May everyone be safe. LA is Trump's dry run for the weekend.

It’s still so hard to believe these are the times we’re living in.
