‘Doomsday Clock’ moves closer to midnight over threats from nuclear weapons, climate change and AI
AP News - "Earth is closer than it’s ever been to destruction as Russia, China the U.S. and other countries become “increasingly aggressive,
adversarial, and nationalistic,” a science-oriented advocacy group said
Tuesday as it advanced its “Doomsday Clock” to 85 seconds till midnight.
The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientist members had an initial demonstration Friday and then announced their results on Tuesday."
...fabulous news. Warms the heart. And we have a syphilitic, addle-brained narcissistic toddler with his tiny fingers on the button. Gee, who knows what will come next?
It’s all so peaceful on the other side. I have never heard anyone do a better job with this song than Judy Garland. Great choreography in this version. My favorite is the duet with Barbra Streisand singing Happy Days Are Here Again.
Mitchell, may I add: Judy Garland, supreme but tragic talent and Barbra Streisand, IMHO her greatest gift next to her incredible voice is her emphasis on pronunciation. No "what did she say," you hear every word distinctly. Not so much now. And personally, one of the dancers in this clip(wobbly legs) was an MGM contract player/dancer that I've crushed on since I watched those musicals from the 40s-50s on TCM in the 80s. I've not been able to find much information on him or any of the chorus members, but he sure made this lad's feet do some fancy steeps.
So much for us to live for but sometimes I feel the end can't come soon enough...

Why is it every time a Republican is in the White House, that clock ticks closer to Midnight...?
Destabilization---Doomsday. Is there a connection?
That's my all-time favorite Judy song.
Thanks for the musical interlude.
