Grrrr... it was a bright spot in the early 2025 television season; Nathan Lane, Matt Bomer, Nathan Lee Graham and the late, great Linda Lavin... it was... marvelous!  

 

 

Announced on Queerty that Hulu has cancelled the show after just one season.

Bernadette lives!

 

 

In August, we had lost the phenomenal Terrance Stamp at age 87, who brought darkness, realism and camp to so many roles, including his iconic role as Bernadette in "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" 

 

 

 

This morning, it is reported on Queerty that, foreseeing his demise due to health and age, Stamp pre-filmed ALL of his parts for the sequel to the 1994 classic.  The sequel has been in the works since 2020 and began to gain production momentum in 2024. Stamp was adamant that he needed to be physically represented in the film, and not done through AI and CGI.  "He didn't want a digital clone of himself".   

 

What a wonderful ode to the genre by such a dedicated professional!  

 

He wants this Priscilla to be his final curtain.

Thank you, Infidel753, for reminding us that today is International Blasphemy Day -- "...a day for denigrating, mocking, and denouncing deeply-held spiritual beliefs of every kind!  The day is observed every September 30, commemorating the publication of the Danish Muhammad cartoons in 2005."

Infidel has gathered a fantastic collection of videos and memes for the day, but let's also take a moment to reflect on the horrific terrorist attack at the French satirical news paper, Charlie Hebdo, in 2015 over... a cartoon about Mohammad.  A fucking cartoon.

In this day and age of MAGA, I refuse to fly the American flag.  It's been too... bastardized... by the radical Right...

 ...and frequently raped by SCROTUS, though at over 250 years old, hardly considered a minor nor will this be found in the Epstein files.

I will still raise it for special occasions; honoring veterans (always and anything), passage of NOTABLE politicians (not radical, incendiary fuck-wads), national holidays and like observances. Up for one day and done. 

That said, I DO have a selection of pennants and flags that I WILL raise. In support of our scientific communities, I proudly raised the following:

The Paw Paw harvest is upon us! 

We planted two paw paw trees about 14 year ago, and 

we have been getting fruit for about 10. 

Just a delicious treat this time of year!   

I make paw paw bread with it!

First (edible) harvest of the season - Paw Paw's!

Usually, on the husbands Birthday earlier in the month, the paw paw's have ripened and begin to drop.  This year, they are off by about two weeks.  Over the past two days, I was able to pick about 4 pounds of fruit, which yielded a about two and a half cups of pulp.  

 

After good 20 minutes of cleaning and mixing the batter, I ended up with three INCREDIBLE Paw Paw cakes!   

 

 

Paw Paw are wonderful trees; native to North America and will grow well from Zone 8 to Zone 4 (the Carolina's to Maine).  The ripe fruit is like a cross between a mango and banana.  We got a LOT more fruit on the tree, but I need my picker to reach them.  

 

I LOVE AUTUMN!!!

root stock and gift it to those interested. 

There are over a dozen lespedeza plants around

town that came from this one plant.
