Reuters is reporting that 10% of the REVENUE for Meta (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) is coming from SCAMS!
Reuters Special Report by Jeff Horwitz - "Meta projected 10% of its 2024 revenue would come from ads for scams and banned goods, documents seen by Reuters show. And the social media giant internally estimates that its platforms show users 15 billion scam ads a day. Among its responses to suspected rogue marketers: charging them a premium for ads – and issuing reports on ’Scammiest Scammers.’" Meta internally projected late last year that it would earn about 10% of its overall annual revenue – or $16 billion – from running advertising for scams and banned goods, internal company documents show.
I got off Facebook in January after Fuckerberg proudly stated that META was ending fact checking and also using AI to "create content we think if of interested to our users". That dovetails right in with the Reuters expose. Yes, let's create vectors, direct pipelines from the scammer to the end user. And if you make it something they may actually feel something for, you nailed it, kid! Thanks for the mullah!
The Reuters special report is... eye-opening. META is so relying on the income from scamming that they do not think they could withstand the drop in revenue if they keep the "promises" to address it. So, HEY! Keep that grift going! Mark need diesel for his yacht!
It's a shame that the likes of Fuckerberg, Bezos, Musk, etc.. all contributed to the Trump shit-show, you think it might not be bad for them to equally donate to the programs that this shutdown have gravely impact? Food pantries could certainly welcome $1M in donations. Just musing... it will never happen.
So tired of hearing "...but it's the only way I can keep in touch with [family, friends, co-workers, blah, blah, blah]" because, you know, the thing you are more than likely scanning Facebook or Instagram with, you know... YOUR PHONE... might actually force you to have a conversation with these people you call "friends". Can't stand to talk to 'em, but I'll give 'em a "Like!" because you know, we're FRIENDS!
Obviously.
Anyhow.
