In 2019, Russell T. Davies brought a short-lived series to HBO called "Years and Years". It was set in a somewhat future. It had as one of the stars, then upcoming LGBT poster boy, Russell Tovey, so for me, that was a draw to tune in.
One of the major plot points of the series was a planet dealing with the rise of fascism and "President Trump" launching nuclear weapons. In the series, it was at China; leading to strategic retaliation where another character witnesses the mushroom cloud rising up over [Baltimore?], and Tovey's character scrambling to locate various people. It was pretty enough of a stark, disturbing scene that I stopped watching the series, and thankfully, it was cancelled a few weeks later.
But I still kept that image and the how burned in my mind. Back then, I realized there was a terrifying potential.
Happy Easter, 2026, and the Internet scree by SCROTUS - in his vile Easter post was the operative part “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge day… There will be nothing like it… You’ll be living in Hell… Just watch…” All that was followed by “Tuesday 8:00 PM Eastern Time," plus phone calls to his media speed dial that if there’s no deal Monday he’s quote “blowing up the whole country” and “I am blowing up everything over there."
And our Congress is on recess.
I hope to Hell that when the markets open today, they crash, hard. Money seems to be about the only thing that registers with that turd.
Unless the markets are just tired of him and will ignore this latest threat. We have a mentally diseased President just itching to use nukes (he wondered why we just couldn't nuke hurricanes, remember?), the head of the DoD who thinks Christ is Savoir, that this is the time for Christ to rise up, and we need to rid the Armed Forces and the planet of any non-Christians, non-whites, and all non-males in power.
Please, let us have TACO Tuesday.
I'm so sick of this shit. All of it.
Happy fucking Monday.

Will he use nukes? I don't think so. I don't think the person on the other switch would be willing to do it for him. But I could be wrong. I hope I'm not wrong.
I just feel like the adults have stopped supervising the playground, and it's Diaper Donny and Pistol Pete in the sandbox.
The markets are up a little, so far. I have honestly stopped paying much attention to anything Trump says. He's always shooting his mouth off, making dramatic threats, and nine times out of ten nothing actually happens. The markets have probably come to the same conclusion.
The price of oil is still going up, though, and the Hormuz closure is interfering with fertilizer production, which the farmers are not happy about. Trump still has reasons to refrain from escalating from regime change to apocalypse.
Let's hope for the best.
