I am usually dubious of online quizzes; most of the time there is some back-end shill asking for a donation or for an abundance of personal information. I follow blogger Infidel753; his research is impeccable on topics of Middle East and European political events. His weekly postings not only include his insights and summaries, but also a round-up of interesting images and memes, and on the weekends, a round-up of curated links on topics from "idiots behaving badly" to updates on the Ukraine / Russian conflict and matters in Israel and Iran. In this weekends slate of links, Infidel included:
The Political Spectrum Quiz: What is your political belief.
50 or so questions containing a statement, and your choice of a perceived impact of that statement. No pleas for money afterwards, or a specific asks for personal information; just an interesting read on your political outlook. Since I trust in Infidel to not steer me into the weeds, I gave it a go.
I came out strong left / centrist which... tracks! I kept the book mark and will take the quiz again in a year or so to see if anything shifts.
Thank you, Infidel, for the interesting link!

Thanks for recommending me! I don't know how realistic it is these days to classify most people on a simple two-axis political scale, but I think that quiz did a reasonably good job. Perhaps others will try it as well.
Well, that was fun, I almost came to the same reference point as you did. I guess that's why I visit your blog.
Mine didn't surprise me. I was almost where you were...I got -You are a left social moderate.
I agree!
I gather we are birds of a feather!
I had been wondering about me; as I have been getting older, into retirement, I've been feeling like I've been losing my liberal sensibilities. I've watched (ex) friends of my age slip into MAGA land. Same with relatives in my generation. I've been questioning myself a lot in recent years. I was glad to see some affirmation that I'm still holding on.
This does sound interesting, but there were way too many vendor preferences to turn off beforehand and, for some reason, it just didn’t sit well with me.
Interesting... didn't get any of that here. Just right to the first page of questions.
I didn't see that kind of thing either. I think that what browser and operating system you're using, and the presence or absence of an ad blocker, have a substantial effect on whether things like that manifest themselves to you.
I have always been mostly left, but I can get fiscally more right. And that about the only thing. I don't think I ever fear becoming socially or morally conservative.
