...and old enough to know that is called 

a "telegrapher".  I worked retail in the early 80's...

 

I want you to grow up, too.  But I also want you

to be a kid.  To live without fear beyond the 

monsters under the bed, 

not in the real ones in the world.

To thrive and mature.

12 years ago today, six months after it became legal in our State of Rhode Island

(and before the rest of the country got on board),

I got to say "I do!" and marry my best friend,

in our home, surrounded by close friends and family.

Thus forever changing our (then) 15 year "Domestic Partnership".

Marriage does change everything. 

Marriage made it official; all embracing... honest... candid.  

Amazing how, when you have that band of gold around your finger, 

you realize that person is now and forever beyond just being a partner.

This is the man whom I have gone to bed 

and woken up next to every night for 27 years.  

Whom I am growing old next to. 

As I feel and embrace my frailties of age.

Witnessing his manifesting. 

Knowing he's who I want to be next to,

sharing as much of this life as we can, 

that we are going to be there for each other.
