Sadly true. And they’re even making it difficult to get one if you so choose.
In one episode of "Designing Women," a gay character is dying from AIDS and asks Julia Sugarbaker to design his funeral. Another female customer overhears Julia discussing the plans with her coworkers and offers her opinion that as far as she's concerned, "it's(AIDS) killing all the right people."
Might I suggest that her statement is more appropriate to this situation, where people disregard years of scientific research and success in order to advance a political view that is narrow, ignorant and deadly.
Oh, yup. Those are the only snow birds going to FL this year. Housing prices are down. My sister's is the only unit on her floor that is NOT for sale, and the units have been on the market for a while now. Waterfront condos not selling. Can you imagine?
I lived there for 6 years (95-00). I don't need to imagine. Once I got past the "Everything is so LUSH and GREEN in DECEMBER!" mode, I got hit with just how fucking ignorantly racist even the "liberal" parts of the state were.
But it did afford me the chance to fix my credit enough to buy my first and second homes, and then the (now) husband (black) and I got the fuck out there.

I keep trying to get my sister to sell. She says she can't afford to buy anywhere. She's right, of course, but still....
