This is a blog by an adult for adults. Content will generally be PG-13 with a little beefcake now and then, however strong language may prevail, especially when commenting on the geopolitical BULLSHIT going on at home and around the world. Otherwise, please enjoy the snark, comics, some memes, okay, LOTS of memes, cats, and (darkening) humor! Welcome! About the current banner: ITMFA - Impeach The Mother Fucker Already. A movement from his FIRST shit show of an administration, but now he's so completely rife with corruption and constitutional ignorance, this seems fitting.

May I interrupt...

Just a note to my friends and fellow bloggers...

  1. It's early May
  2. This is Southern New England.
  3. I have about... 4 hours... before everything goes from accessible and manageable to overgrown.

Current project: Building a greenhouse.

We had an old garden shed in the back BACK corner of the yard.  That shed had a 6x11 cement patio in front of it.  Well, that shed is long gone, but the patio remains.  Found a 6 x 10 greenhouse kit (arrived yesterday).  Over the weekend, I installed a raised foundation for it, and dug a pit that will eventually enable me to run PEX from the garage to have a working faucet at the structure.

As I mentioned, I have short window to get the greenhouse assembled before the path become overgrown with seasonal shrubs (lilacs, Russian Quince, etc.) that are just beginning to bud out.

I may not be readily responding to comments or spending time visiting with other blog sites for other than a cursory scan.  Once dawn breaks, I am in work mode.

Next May projects on the list:

  • Build a 2' x 15' raised planter behind the wood shed.
  • Move the large tropical plants (several large, potted orange trees, Oleander, etc.) out of the game room, including hanging the 14' dragon fruit from the Granny Smith apple tree.
  • Gutting and cleaning the breezeway (wintered a lot of plants in there). A lot of stuff will go out the the greenhouse.
  • Patching and painting the exterior 1st floor (where insulation was blown in last fall).
  • Opening up the 3-season porch.
  • Preparing for our first house guests in YEARS sometime in late June.

Onward.
