Gone in ...nine seconds.

I enjoy the videos on the YouTube channel, SAMTIME; about the latest round of slop to come out of the tech companies, and he maintains a strong bent against AI.

Fun video; sharp wit.  The perfect viewing for a Monday afternoon.  ...and in reality... completely TRUE!!!  A few videos down on my page; confirmation!

Nine seconds. An entire corporate database AND the backup deleted.  Anthropic's response "We're just going to charge more for companies to use the system".

SMH.  Glad to be on this side of this garbage.  I can only imagine having to work x-number more years for a company jonesing over wanting to go AI.

AI is not working out as they planned. We’ve been warned about this reliance on automation and computers for decades, just watch the Twilight Zone episode The Brain Center at Whipple’s and the Outer Limits episode OBIT.

Sadly, there was never a plan other than for the Tech Bros to figure a way to con less tech-savvy sheep into handing over fortunes for a bag of magic beans. These are the same Tech Bros who sold the same sheep on "Cloud Computing".

In this case, the company entrusted with backing up the data was partly to blame. It kept the "back-up" in the same "volume" with the actual data, so deleting the volume eliminated both. Not a good system.

"AI" is always ignoring built-in safeguards. If we ever invent sentient robots, it looks like Asimov's Three Laws won't do us any good.

Corporate management has always been prone to fads and "AI" is no exception. Really looking forward to when they decide to stop wasting their money on junk that can't do the job, and the whole house of cards comes down.
