Oh, the times we live in, eh?
I took this young man's advice 2 years ago, cut the cable, haven't watched broadcast news or any programming for that matter. Now I watch old movies from my VHS collection(yes, the tapes have held up well) and a few things on TUBI. I'm mentally healthier and happier than ever, taking current events from trusted blogs and Heather Cox Richardson.
I know I should stop watching the news, but I can't help myself.... I feel the need to know what the fuck they are up to.
We have... streaming services. Meaning we have a wide selection of nothing we want to watch. I am also a fan of HCR, and Keith Olbermann - both I watch over YouTube.
That's kind of what HCR and Jen Psaki (she was on Colbert last week) said. You gotta at least listen to the daily headlines. Husband and I have taken to DVR'ing the nightly news. We watch it with the finger on the fast-forward button.
We use the Mute button. LOL
