Anti-AI: Proliferation of AI advertising.

At the conclusion of this morning's Wonkette blog, Rebecca Schoenkopf posted a link to the San Francisco Chronicle on the proliferation of AI advertising in the Bay area.  How it has taken hold based on proximity to Silicon Valley, and essentially how the parasite class is forcing the narrative that AI is good and useful.

Sadly, a 2010 San Francisco court ruling is preventing the disclosure of exactly how MANY of these billboards have been set up, so the Chronicle set about to manually count them.  Their report, "How many AI billboards are in San Franciscois quite eye-opening. Reported the Chronicle, "Between March 9 and March 23, [we] collected data on 489 billboards with ads across the city. Nearly half belonged to AI-native companies — which we defined as those that described AI as central to their product on their website.

Most of the AI billboards in the city are where you would expect them: along Highway 101 and Interstate 80 and along Lombard Street through the Marina, perfectly placed to baffle tourists on their way to SFO or the Golden Gate Bridge.

Longtime Chronicle columnist Carl Nolte recently noted how disorienting the advertising in the city had become. It’s not just him. Even for those with a coding background, it’s not always easy to tell what companies are selling. And that’s probably fine with these companies. The ads are often targeted at a small set of rich people with investment money to spend."

More so, in the article, the Chronicle included a questionnaire to see if you can spot the AI generated advertising.  I failed miserably.

We try desperately to block AI infiltration on our desktop and devices.  Now to take on the world of public advertising. We do it where it counts!  It is rapidly entering into election season. This is where it will be imperative to look at ballot measures directed at the parasite class; taxation levies and property restructuring, supporting green initiatives that limit land, water and energy consumption, support for fair labor practices and living wages.  All the things that the billionaires are aggressively fighting against. Don't let them win.

Onward!

When it comes to advertising, etc, AI is the rather a progression of CGI. We've taught it.

As our current history lesson progresses and my thoughts turn darker and more vindictive, the guillotine takes on another purpose, other than its intended purpose. Every male existing who has aided and abetted t. with his reign of terror should be publicly forced to put his other head into the hole and suffer the consequences of being part of this Miller/Harp/et. al administration because we all know who's really running the clown show. It is certainly not that bloated cancerous child who threatens to do the most ridiculous things like changing names of gulfs and lakes, and issuing tariffs as a means of privileged revenge. This course in history is not sustainable and many people will die due to the ignorance and arrogance of MAGA and the lot. The anger inside rages and should begin to show results in November.(sorry for the word salad but I am beyond forgiving any of these people for the destruction they've done to our country and the world)

If it's sometimes hard to tell what these billboards are selling, I suppose we can hope that the "AI" that generates the ads is bungling them the way it bungles pretty much everything it does. On the other hand, anything as costly as a billboard is probably being reviewed by a human before final approval.

I fully agree with your last paragraph, which reflects how people are finally coming to recognize that real politics is mostly about the class struggle. The billionaires, of course, have always known this. But for a long time they managed to keep the rest of us distracted from it.
